Fireworks Safety & Awareness Course

Fireworks Safety & Awareness Course

A Fun Day with Eastcoast Fireworks is a truly unique fireworks experience, the only opportunity currently available in the North Island where members of the public can learn about fireworks in an exciting and innovative way and actually get to participate in a fireworks display.

No previous experience is required. Our exclusive course is the ultimate fireworks experience. You’ll come along to our Rural Fire Station in Ongaonga and spend the morning in our classroom learning all about the history and chemistry of fireworks.

After lunch we’ll take you to our firing site where you will help to set up a professionally organised display under the supervision of our senior pyrotechnician and Approved Handler of Pyrotechnics. Once it gets dark, at around 1930 hours you’ll be able to join in and detonate your own display.

If you’ve never been that close to a fireworks display we’ll give you an opportunity to light your own fireworks display where you can enjoy the crashes, bangs and starbursts in all their glory.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Students should dress appropriately for the weather and bring their own PPE (personal protective equipment); head protection, eye protection, close-toe shoes, and cotton/wool/or similarly flame resistant long-sleeved shirt and trousers.
